IT COMMANDS
I fear what the creature will do if I don't follow its commands in order; it speaks through the TV screen. I must pay close attention.
The creature only allows time to pass when a command has been fulfilled. Bedtime occurs at 10:00 pm, and I must survive until then.
---CONTROLS---
Move between the views with "A" & "D."
While facing the TV, use "1", "2" & "3" on the keyboard to change channels:
1 - Cartoons, 2 - News, 3 - Sitcom
While feeding the creature, use your mouse to pick between cookies, chips, or wieners.
While facing the heater, click and drag the knob with your mouse to turn the heater "On" or "Off."
---DEVELOPERS NOTES---
The game runs on browser, but feel free to download the windows version if you want to play it on full screen with better resolution.
We wanted to take a very simple concept, like "Simon says" and turn it into a horror game for this gamejam. It might need some balancing (not sure if it's either too easy or too hard, time will tell).
IT COMMANDS was made in 7 days for the Scream TV horror gamejam.

Very interesting game! We had fun playing it on the channel! Makes for some cool commentary! Check out my short lil playthrough!
Hey, Vermillion! Thanks so much for playing the game and making a video of it!
We're currently hard at work on an update, we're a bit slow, but getting there! Hope you'll stick around for when we update the game :D
Great game, I had alot of fun playing it, I just wish I had the brain power to retain all the commands, still won tho XD.
Hey, OneBloodMoon! Omg I enjoyed your video so much, I'm so glad you enjoyed out tiny lil horror game!
Thank you, can't wait to play more of your games in the future!
This game was interesting and different I enjoyed it's take on things
Hey, Ajaara! Thanks for playing and sharing your video!
Sorry if there was any frustration understanding the monster's commands, we are currently working on some QoL changes that'll make the game better.
So glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Amaakir,
Thanks for reaching out, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! No worries about any confusion with the monster's commands; I understand that refining gameplay mechanics is all part of the process. It's fantastic to hear that you're actively working on quality-of-life changes - looking forward to seeing the improvements!
Keep up the great work, and I'll definitely keep an eye out for updates. If you ever need any further feedback or support, feel free to reach out anytime.
Best regards, Ajaara
That was one demanding monster :P
Thanks so much for playing and sharing your video!
Yes, definitely something we are actively working on is making it easier to understand the commands and not having the player only depend on audio.
We are also working on adding more content to it, so hopefully you'll check it out once it's finished, thanks again!
Had A Blast Playing, took me a while to figure out I needed the sound on. (playing things for my 2 year old wasn't helping)!
<3 Great Game!
Hahaha, yeah, we plan on polishing things up after the jam is done. Adding more content and incorporating some form of text for the commands is at the top of our list.
Thanks so much for playing and sharing your thoughts on it!
Cool concept, fun to check out. 👍 Only things I would note are that it may work better being a little longer to give more build up on doing 1-3-4 commands before getting to 5-6. I also thought it was a bit too generous when it comes to winning - I won but didn't think I did very well haha.
Hi, Mana! Yea, I agree with you haha there was a lot of balancing we had to kind of ignore in order to get it done in just 7 days but we are so happy to see everyone having such a good time with it still!
Thanks so much for your video and reaching out!
[This was the 2nd game I played in this video] I really like the concept, I just wish subtitles were a thing, I'm sure you've heard that plenty by now lol. Still enjoyable!
Thank you so much for your video, Don! I am so glad you enjoyed it!
Funny and creepy game. Love the challenge.
The game definitely tries the unique mechanic and unfortunately fails, although considering that this is a game jam project - still a huge win.
I did try the game, recorder it as well. Played a bit off screen and got used to the things better, so, the first impression wasn't the best. As I said, the game carries unique atmosphere and overall, it can be more balanced. Otherwise, great job.
Best of luck with the game jam. Cheers!
Hey, Niven! Thank you so much for playing!
Yeah, I agree it still needs major polishing and balance updates, being our first gamejam entry we have been learning so much from the experience and appreciate all the feedback we've received, so thank you so much for recording and sharing your thoughts!
I like the idea, but I think subtitles would be very useful! I can barely understand it...
Hi, DorkFishie!
Yes, that is something we've been picking up on and it's something we had in mind while developing, but we ran out of time lol we'll work something out so it's clear what the commands are (maybe some text on the tv screen or something) for our next update.
Thank you for playing and reaching out!
It would make sense for the subs to be on the TV; after all, the commands are coming from it!
I’m on mobile and I can’t turn the knob to the heater.
Hi, OmanMcGee!
Thanks for trying out the game, that's an unfortunate bug!
We made the game aiming to have it playable on a computer, but we're thinking about pushing out a polish update soon and we'll take your feedback into account so it plays well on mobile :)
Short, but funny game.
Thank you so much for the video! You totally nailed it on your first try!
good
Thanks!
Cartoons, cookie, chip, colder, sitcom!
Well done!
Thanks, Zethicus! Glad you liked it! :D
